ARCANE TOMES Arcane Tomes / ArcaneTomes.org is an indie fantasy bookstore (of sorts) sponsored by Peasant Magazine and serves to promote Indie Fantasy Books, and also serves to promote Peasant Magazine itself. Joining Arcane Tomes is free and the only requirement is that authors must have self-published at least one book. Literary magazines/journals that publish fantasy stories by indie authors are also acceptable.

Past Issues | Open for Submissions | Submission Guidelines | Deadlines | FAQ | Contact Magazine Readership Records This topic comes up every once in a while when writers reach out to make contact, wanting to know how many people are actually reading Peasant Magazine. Writers want to know these numbers so that they have a better idea of how many people will end up reading their stories. Thus it was decided that we should publish the records of every 8x11 magazine sale and every PDF download. So here goes... Issue #1 - Readership Records Q4 2023 - Sold 25 8x11 magazines and had 503 downloads. Q1 2024 - Sold 5 8x11 magazines and had 143 downloads. Q2 2024 - Sold 2 8x11 magazines and had 247 downloads. As of August 2024 we can see that Peasant Magazine's readership for Issue #1 has exceeded a thousand downloads, while the print version of the magazine has sold dozens of copies. (To be fair, it is difficult for a print version to compete with a free PDF version.) Issue #2 - Readership Records Q2 2024 - Sold 19 8x11 magazines and had 340 downloads. With respect to Issue #2 we can see that we haven't done enough marketing, but when we compare the Monthly stats we see that Issue #1 saw a boost in downloads/sales in May 2024 when Issue #2 was released. As Issues #3, #4, etc are released, we may see similar boosts in downloads/sales for various past issues. It should be interesting to see if Issue #2 also exceeds a thousand downloads by May 2025.
